CLOSED CHAMBER (TURBO) BOILER

 Recommended lining tube: FuranFlex®-Turbo
Boilers development technology is aimed at improving energy efficiency, space demand, and convenient operation. As a result of this development so-called closed chamber or turbo boilers were put on the market. Their principle of operation is the following:

  • The exact amount of air needed for combustion is blown into the chamber by a ventilator built in the boiler, and flue gas is pushed outside through the chimney flue.
  • A levegőt a zárt égésterű kazán nem a lakótérből kapja, hanem vagy egy csövön keresztül az épületen kívülről, vagy felülről lefelé a keményből, a béléscső és az eredeti kémény közötti résen keresztül.
  • The closed chamber boiler receives air either from outside of the building through a pipe, or from the chimney, through the gap between the lining tube and the original chimney, rather than extracting it from the living space.
  • Flue gas is emitted through the chimney artificially with the help of a ventilator fan, as opposed to traditional chimneys; therefore, the cross-section of the chimney may be significantly smaller than in the case of traditional boilers.

Inside the chimney (and also inside the boiler) there is overpressure as compared to the environment, the flow of flue gas does not take place based on the principle of natural draft.

  • The units of the flue gas pipe are supplied by the boiler manufacturer in the form of metal pipes of different lengths and with a small diameter. Only chimneys of a certain length can be built using these units.
  • Because of the overpressure it is important that the small-diameter flue tube inside the chimney is perfectly gas-tight for a considerable length of time, and among the components of the flue tube there is a silicon rubber ring to ensure the seal against internal pressure. This ring ages over the years and needs to be replaced.
  • Steel pipes can only be inserted in a distorted chimney by demolishing a wall.

A FuranFlex®-Turbo solves the above problems:

  • It can be built in chimneys of any optional length, even in distorted chimneys without extensions, seals, etc., with a guarantee of 25 years.
  • It automatically ensures a distance of 2 cm between the internal wall of the chimney and the external wall of FuranFlex®-Turbo, in accordance with the prescriptions.

The following elements are required for the installation of FuranFlex® in closed combustion chamber chimneys:

1. Rain-shield piece, smoke-stack cover and collar: to prevent rainwater or solid objects from getting in between FuranFlex® and the chimney wall or in the FuranFlex® lining tube.
2. Turbo junction piece: for connecting boilers to chimneys.

3. Narrowing piece: for bridging over diameter differences between smoke tubes.

4. Calibrating ring for turbo installation:
piece for connecting the condensate and cleaning piece to the lining tube.
5. Turbo condensate and cleaning piece:
for draining wastewater created during the operation of the chimney and for cleaning the chimney.
